We would like to share a quick update from National Museums Liverpool to confirm they are slowley coming out of Lockdown. Earlier we shared that, due to government recommendations, all National Museums Liverpool venues were closed temporarily to support efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
The health and safety of visitors, volunteers and staff is their top priority and, while they understand many of you were very disappointed by the closures, they do not wish to put anyone at risk. Your cooperation is greatley appreciated.
Now, we are thrilled to announce that the museums and galleries gradually reopen, you can engage online via the website and social media and view a sample of digitised collections by clicking here.
The first exhibition is at The Walker Art Gallery who is hosting this major retrospective of Linda McCartney’s photography. From her iconic depictions of the music scene of the 1960s, to family life with Paul, Linda captured her whole world on film.
The exhibition features more than 250 extraordinary images that reveal what a prolific photographer Linda was, and how her love for the natural world, her surreal sense of humour, and an exceptional eye for capturing the spontaneous, gave her work an inimitable style.
If you have a ticket for an upcoming event or exhibition, the museum is operating a rebooking service to allow you to attend events. Please also note that the private views for the Life on Board exhibition at the Merseyside Maritime Museum and the Linda McCartney Retrospective exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery, will have new dates.
