Mobile Responsive Design is a must for all mobile devices.
How did we ever live without the Internet?? The way in which digital marketing has developed since the 1990s has changed the way of the world. Now all businesses use technology for all sorts of reasons. Digital marketing campaigns are becoming more prevalent and far more efficient. Digital platforms are increasingly incorporated, not just into the business world, but also into our everyday life. Where would we be without online shopping!
When the Internet started with the Web 1.0 platforms it was only available on our computers. Therefore, websites were built to a set size to be viewed only on desktops. Other devices were not yet designed. As technology developed laptops became very popular. Then mobile phones got access to the Internet. From there we got Tablets and now many other mobile devices.
With the different screen sizes the “one size fits all” website is not longer appropriate. Viewing a webpage on any of the mobile screens, if not mobile responsive, is a nightmare. It involved lots of scrolling right and left. Very often the essence of the message on the page is lost. It’s also true to say most people do not have the patience these days to mess about with it. Changes must be made.
Today all websites must be mobile responsive. We need the same code to work across multiple screens. Content must appear correctly in an instant no matter what device is used, be it widescreen desktop, laptop, mobile phone, Tablet or other mobile devices.
If you need to understand how the adaption changes are made you need to research lots of techy stuff such as brousser width, razorfish, RESTfulAPI, ERP, CSS3 media, fluid grid/ flexible images, pixel size v % and so on. Personally, I avoid this side of running an active website. Instead, my web developer takes care of it all for me. My site has been mobile responsive a few years now. Your web developer should do the same for you.
To help with this, in October 2015, Google introduced Accelerate Mobile Pages (AMP) to dramatically improve our mobile websites. Google Official AMP Blog
Make sure your site is a mobile responsive site. Keep it friendly.
