How do you go about getting new customers to make more Sales?
On the one hand this is very straight forward and on another level it’s tricky. The bottom line is to find the people who need what you have and are prepared to pay for it. But how do you find those people?
There are many answers to this question. You will find it various from business to business. So the very first thing you need to know is where exactly your audience can be found. Initially this will take some researching. You must analyse your goods or services to establish which people will need them. Do your products/services attract 18 -25yr olds? Or are you after a more mature audience? Both of these sectors will be using very different aspects of Social Media. So, if you can establish where your audience is most lightly to be found, you can save yourself a fortune on time and money by not hanging around the wrong platforms.
You have various outlets to contact new people, including your Website, Facebook (FB) & Twitter (T). There are many other Social Media platforms but these are the most popular so I’ll concentrate on them. Generally, in our head you know exactly what your business is all about. You understand how you can help others if only they would ask you to. So why are others not rushing in to ask for your help? What’s wrong with them?
Whoops, perhaps there is nothing wrong with them. Perhaps it’s you! Are you going the right way about getting new customers? How clear is the message on your website? Do FB and/or T portray the very same message? Are all of your contact details available? These are just some of the basics you need to get in place before you go looking for leads.
How would you describe a “lead”? Most think of it as someone out there who, once you’ve presented yourself well to them, show how amazing you are, will jump up and ask for a proposal.
Well, that’s not a lead… It’s someone on a high because of how well you presented yourself.
A real lead is someone who already knows who you are, they understand exactly what it is you do, they know your fees and so they want to do business with you. That’s a proper lead. Many of these leads will convert to sales. You can make this happen time and time again.
As I said at the beginning, on the one hand this is very straight forward and on another level it’s tricky. The key is to get your business foundations in place. Like building any property, if you can start out with solid floorings, then building the walls etc will take some effort but will be in the flow. The whole business will develop without resistance.
To build that solid foundation your prime aim is to share a crystal clear message with existing and potential customers on what it is you can do for them. Without that understanding for your business you cannot expect anyone to request your help.
