Facebook is an extraordinary social media platform designed initially for chit chat among friends.
Thanks to technology, Facebook has moved fast forward to become a brilliant SALES platform. And, for the most part, it’s FREE.
So how can you make this platform work for your business?
As with any sales platform, you start by getting your house in order. Your aim should be to have a page that will attract customers to stop and go “WOW! I need some of that….”
Think of it as your Shop Window Display.
To attract attention on Facebook you must use the platform to its full potential. This involves planning, preparation, scheduling and regular updating. To get the best from Facebook it’s important you understand all of its features and benefits. Once you know how to use it properly it’s no longer scary.
By learning things like “Scheduling” you can make you time on Facebook very cost effective.
The key to drawing attention to interested parties is made up as follows:-
- A Crystal Clear Message on who you are and what you are offering.
You must be direct in what it is you can do for others. Cut out the “fluffy” stuff and get to the point. Remember, today most people are time poor. They will not waste their valuable time trying to decipher what it is you really do. That’s your job. If you don’t capture customers’ attention and imagination in the first few SECONDS they are on your page then you have lost them – forever.
- A Professional Picture of you should be on the top left side of your page.
Most people hate using their photos. I did initially. However, if you are prepared to share an image of you, this shows you are professional, perhaps trustworthy and most important of all honest. Make sure you invest in a proper photographer. I can recommend some great people if interested. Please do NOT use some family holiday shots or selfies etc. The picture must reflect your business
- Remember, the business world is very saturated.
Many businesses are now selling on Facebook. There will be many offering similar goods and/or services to you. You must show that you are the best. You are the “go to” person in your field.
So what is it about your wares that make you unique and a cut above your competitors? Here, you must show what BENEFITS customers can get by using you. Your challenge is to prove that you are the best to do business with.
- Add all your Contacts.
It’s unbelievable how many set up a Facebook Page without adding their contact information.
Why on earth would you do that? Just how can you expect someone to do business with you if you refuse to share your contacts! Share your mobile number on your top Banner. Then add it and all other contacts to your relevant section in your Settings.
If you start out be filling in your Settings properly then you have conquered these 4 steps and are well on your way to making Facebook work for your business.
